For the cleanliness of the environment and safety of human life, a forest festival was organized at local government ITI (W) in which Mr. Vimal Kumar Setia, Deputy Commissioner, Faridkot, IAS was present as the Chief Guest.Addressing the entire staff after the tree plantation ceremony at the institute, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Vimal Setia said that during the horrific period of lockdown in Punjab due to the Corona pandemic while the organization has made 46,000 cloth masks and distributed free of cost to the poor and needy, on the other hand today, by planting trees for the cleanliness of the environment through the Van Mahautsav festival, it has given a commendable message of its social responsibility for which the Principal of the organization Shamsher Purkhalvi and the entire staff are to be appreciated. Congratulating the organization for such humanitarian work, he said that the cordiality between the tree and the human being would prove to be precious for the safety of life. Further, he hoped that the organization would continue its invaluable contribution through such social activities in future also.

Shamsher Purkhalvi, Principal of the institute and District Nodal Officer said that while the whole world was trapped in their homes due to the Corona pandemic, the entire staff and trainees of the Government Industrial Training Institute Mohali have become Corona Warriors through the ‘Mission Fateh’, and have continued their activities to create awareness among the people so that precious human lives can be saved. Mr. Purkhalvi said that the institute was imparting quality technical education to the girls as well as educating them for revival of human values so that a nigger society could be created. He said that as per the instructions of the Cabinet Minister Sardar Charanjit Singh Channi and Principal Secretary Mr. Anurag Verma, the institute is going to start many new courses this year in association with eminent industrial houses to provide employment opportunities to the youth.Among others present on the occasion included Superintendent Mr. Avtar Singh, Mr. Gurbachan Singh, Instructor Mr. Rakesh Dhalla, Mr. Varinderpal Singh Khalsa, Mrs. Upasana Attri, Mrs. Darshna Kumari, Mrs. Jasvir Kaur, Mrs. Rajni Banga, Placement Officer Gurwinder Singh, Mr. Vikramjit Singh Bains, Mrs. Anjali, Mrs. Shavi Goyal, Mr. Parvinder Kumar, Mr. Maninderpal Singh, Mr. Rohit Kaushal, Ms. Alka and Ms. Arshdeep Kaur.
