District administration Sangrur, on Friday, kick started a massive awareness drive under Mission Fateh in Malerkotla in association with religious and social representatives and volunteers of various organizations and NGOs. While divulging details, Additional Deputy Commissioner (general) Mr. Rajesh Tripathi said that the drive has been launched following the directions of DC Mr. Ramvir and 100 personalities from various walks of life have been appointed as 'Rehnuma' (savior). He added that the Rehnuma will make the local people aware of the precautions and symptoms of Covid-19 and will also motivate them to get tested as early treatment is more beneficial in this disease.Before launching the awareness drive, ADC along with his team also paid their obeisance at local Haa Da Nahra Gurdwara, Mosque near Sirhindi Gate and at Hanuman Temple and prayed for the welfare of mankind. After offering prayers officials and 'Rehnumas' in the groups of 5 persons each, distributed the masks to common people and appealed them to adopt wearing mask as a habit to stay safe from coronavirus.ADC Rajesh Tripathi said that they have chalked out a detailed plan and 'Rehnumas' will visit daily at their designated places and apart from distributing masks and sanitaisers, they would also encourage the local residents to seek immediate medical advice in case of fever, cough, sore throat, difficulty in breathing and body aches. He appealed that if any resident is having Covid symptoms, he or she should inform health authorities by dialing helpline number 104.On this occasion, SP Manjit Singh Brar, SDM Vikramjit Panthey, ACUT Devdarshdeep Singh, DSP Sumit Sood, Tehsildaar Badaldeen, District coordinator Nehru Yuva Kendra Anjali Chaudhry among several others were also present.
