The Punjab Government has decided to run the Ghar Ghar Rozgar and Karobar Mission through digital means due to COVID pandemic. Disclosing this here today the Employment Generation and Skill Development and Training Minister Charanjit Singh Channi said that with opening up of economy and relaxation of conditions of lockdown, there is need of Employment Generation and Skill Development and Training to take a more proactive approach for facilitating employment for the benefit of both employers and prospective employees.  Keeping this in view, the Punjab Government has decided to provide services online services through DBEE’s.The Minister said that District Bureau of Employment and Enterprise of every district have created online web link for registration of educated/ semi-educated unemployed youth who are looking for job. Similarly, a link has also been created for registration of the employers also who are looking to hire employees. The jobseekers were also being reached out through education / technical institutes, CSC/ VLES, announcements through BDPOS, sarpanches, panchayat secretaries etc. Employers were being explored through support of Industries, Labour, Health, Technical Education, Cooperation, Defence Welfare Department and by contacting Industry Associations etc. 

Mr. Channi further said that similarly the department is also providing online assistance regarding Self Employment to the unemployed youth in every district, where link for registration of unemployed who are looking for self-employment has been created. This link provides the facility to register the interest of the applicant in the currently live loan schemes in the district. The data of live schemes include schemes of Gol, GoP and those facilitated by the Lead Bank for the purpose of self-employment.The Secretary Employment Generation and Skill Development and Training Mr Rahul Tiwari briefing about the online initiatives of the Employment Generation and Skill Development and Training Department said that the DBEEs have also started a mobile Helpline for Job Assistance, Career Counselling, Self Employment, Manual Registration and Queries. Such persons can call at district or Head Office helpline between 9 am to 5 pm on all Government Working Days.He further said that the Youth/Job Seekers those are in search of Job can also register and create their profile to apply for Government as well as Private Jobs at www.pgrkam.com.
