Deputy Commissioner Mansa Gurpal Singh Chahal on Thursday strictly mandated concerned officials to levy challan of Rs 200 to people found without wearing masks in the markets.Chairing the meeting with the officials, Deputy Commissioner said that it had come into his notice that despite wearing masks have made compulsory, some people are still violating orders by not wearing masks while stepping outdoors. He said that to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus disease or COVID-19 face masks have become paramount. Deputy Commissioner, while soliciting cooperation from the residents to fight the pandemic disease appealed them to wear face-masks whenever they step outside their houses. Apart from wearing masks, he also asked them to ensure maintain social distance, avoid crowds and wash/sanitise their hands frequently. He said that this is the only way people can save themselves and their families from the disease.Deputy Commissioner directed officials to ensure that people wearing masks, maintaining social distancing and following all the norms in their respective areas. He ordered officials not to spare anyone found without wearing a mask in the public place. Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC General) Sukhpreet Singh Sidhu, ADC Development Gurmeet Singh Sidhu, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Budhlada Aaditya Dachalwal, SDM Sardulgarh Rajpal Singh and DDPO Dinesh Vashisht were present in the meeting.
