 The Deputy Commissioner Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma, Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr Navjot Singh Mahal today said that severest of severe action would be taken against the shopkeepers for overcharging of essential commodities.Chairing a meeting with the Indian Medical Association, whole sale »medicine association and Retail chemist associat·ion, the Deputy Commissioner, Commissioner of Police and Senior Superintendent of Police said that the administration was keeping a strict eye over the profiteers who were trying to mint profit during this hour of crisis. They said that administration was duty bound to check any such malpractice with heavy hand. àThàe officers also said that the administration would not accept this type of profiteering at any cost.Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner, Commissioner of Police and Senior Superintendent of Police also said that the district administration was regularly monitoring the activity of each and every stakeholder adding that no one would be allowed to take law in their own hand. 

They further said that a viable mechanism has been evolved for demand and supply of every thing in the district. The officers sought the support of every stakeholder in this noble cause.The Deputy Commissioner, Commissioner of Police and Senior Superintendent of Police also lauded the role being played by Indian Medical association for providing healing touch to the society in this hour of crisis.On the occasion Additional Deputy Commissioners Mr Vishesh Sarangal and Mr Jasbir Singh,Chief Executive Officer Smart City Ms Shena Aggarwal, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr NK Dogra and Mr AS Powar, Sub Divisional Magistrate Mr Rahul Sindhu and Dr Jai Inder Singh, Assistant Commissioner Mr Varjeet Singh, Civil Surgeon Dr Gurinder Chawla, Medical Superintendent Dr Mandeep Kaur, Zonal Licensing Authority Mr Harnek Singh, District Epidemiologist Dr Shobna, Drug Control Officer Mr Kamal Kamboj, President IMA Punjab Dr Navjot Dahiya, District President IMA Dr Pankaj Paul besides others were present.
