Director Agriculture Jammu, Inder Jeet, today flagged off a group of 30 farmers from Marh, R. S. Pura, Akhnoor and Dansal Sub-Divisions of Jammu district for an exposure visit to outside UT.The five days exposure visit from March 10 to 15, 2020 to CSK Himachal Pradesh Krishi-Vishav-Vidayalaya (CSKHPKVV) Palampur has been arranged under Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) of National Mission on Agriculture Extension and Technology (NMAET).Director Agriculture while interacting with the farmers said that such exposure visits provide the farmers an opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills by visiting the institutes where new technologies are being utilized in the field of agriculture and allied sector for increasing the farm income. He advised the farmers to interact with the scientists and research workers to update the know-how regarding latest techniques being adopted in the farming. He further asked the farmers to replicate the latest technology in their fields after learning from such visits and also share it with fellow farmers.Chief Agriculture Officer, Jammu F. A. Bhat apprised that farmers will learn about Integrated Farming Systems including Organic Farming, Mushrooms Growing, Beekeeping, Animal Rearing, Vermi-composting, Vegetable Cultivation and Cultivation of Spices and Medicinal Plants during the exposure visit.Deputy Director Agriculture (Central), Jagmohan Bhat, Deputy Project Directors, ATMA, B.B Sidha and other field functionaries of the Department were also present on the occasion.
