After the allegation of harassing women and locking their toilet in temple premises by the Sanatan Dharam Welfare Society, the Chairperson of the Punjab State Women Commission Mrs. Manisha Gulati today visited Sat Narayan Mandir, village Mataur. On the direction of Chairperson and in the presence of police party, women unlocked the toilet in the temple premises.Listening to the grievances of the members of the Mahila Mandal of Sat Narayan Mandar Mataur, she also summoned temple committee on January 7, 2020 in her office, besides directing the SHO Rajiv Kumar to provide security to the women inside the temple.Mahila Mandal President Mrs. Dayawanti Bansal and Vice President Mrs. Abha Bansal apprised the chairperson that President of Sanatan Dharam Welfare Society was allegedly harassing women and he had also locked women toilet in the temple premises.On this, Mrs. Gulati warned that harassment and misconduct with women will not be tolerated at all. The chairperson further said that she would take up the matter with the Deputy Commissioner SAS Nagar and urge him to provide women with 50 per cent representation in the new management of the temple committee.Mahila Mandal Treasurer Mrs. Indu Verma, Secretary Mrs. Manju Pathak and members Mrs. Promila Garg, Mrs. Sudesh Khanna, Mrs. Usha Devi, Mrs. Sita Devi, Mrs. Meenu Goyal, Mrs. Geeta Sharma and Mrs. Raj Kakkar were present.
