38 Health & Wellness Centres coming up in Kupwara, Rs 3 cr disbursed under PMAY

The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Anshul Garg, today convened separate meetings of concerned officers to review the status of under construction Health Institutions, PMAY cases, KCC cases and CSS schemes in the district.The meeting was informed that construction of 38 Health & Wellness Centres have been taken in hand at a cost of Rs.2 crore by various executing agencies in the district. Of which, 15 Centres have been completed, while 20 centres are at the different stages of completion.The DDC reviewed the status of the Health & Wellness Centres and asked Executive Engineer of J&K Housing Board to speed up the construction work so that the buildings can be handed over to Health Department at an earliest.Reviewing the progress under Prime Minister’s Awas Yojna (PMAY), Urban, the meeting was informed that 2468 cases have been approved under Housing for all Programmes in Kupwara, Handwara and Langate towns during current financial year. Out of which work is in progress on 789 houses and Rs.3 crore have been disbursed among the beneficiaries.Reviewing the progress achieved under Kissan Credit Card (KCC) and CSS Schemes the meeting was informed that 4513 cases under KCC are sponsored by Animal & Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries departments, out which 1819 cases have been sanctioned and Rs 9.43 crore have been disbursed among 1477 beneficiaries.The DDC directed the concerned officers to speed up the process for coverage of targeted number of beneficiaries under KCC and CSS. He said that the purpose of both KCC and CSS is to double the farmers’ income. He said farmers from border areas should be prioritised.Joint Director Planning, Abdul Majeed, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Lead District Manger JK Bank Kupwara, Executive Engineer, J&K Housing Board, Project Engineer, PMAY and BMOs of Health Department attended the meeting.
