Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan on Tuesday stressed on ensuring punctuality of employees in government offices and directed to adopt zero tolerance for corruption.The Div Com was addressing officers while reviewing progress of several developmental activities in Bandipora district. He asked Deputy Commissioner Bandipora to assign duties to officers who will regularly visit Government offices at Panchayat level to monitor attendance of the employees.Div Com asked the concerned for obtaining regular feedback from the people at ground level besides maintaining the quality of work in developmental projects and to ensure speedy disposal of public grievances.Stressing on adopting zero tolerance for corruption, he asked the officers to act tough against the corrupt officials.While reviewing the progress of developmental activities, Divisional Commissioner directed the officers to devise a calendar for ongoing projects in double shifts to compensate the delays due to recent unavoidable circumstances. He also directed the officers to complete the paper work of projects of snowbound areas till March so that works can be started soon after the end of winter season. He also reviewed the status of construction of bunkers in Gurez Valley along the LoC.Earlier Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza presented a Power Point Presentation highlighting the developmental activities in Bandipora district.The DC Bandipora informed the meeting that 79 projects have been approved under languishing projects being funded through the Jammu & Kashmir Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation (JKIDFC) Limited and an amount of Rs 151.89 Cr have been approved for the completion of these projects including an amount of Rs 67.46 Cr for early completion of 38 Water supply schemes.
Furthermore, 21 projects of R&B, 2 projects of PDD and 4 projects of Health and Medical Education have also been approved under the scheme. He said regular review meetings are being conducted for implementation and monitoring of JKIDFC approved projects.He said that during the first phase of Back to Village Programme the locals demanded 1162 works out of which one work from each Panchayat was taken up in the district and the Rural Development Department executed these works in convergence mode spending an amount of Rs 14.73 Crore which include state share of Rs 5 Crore, Rs 6.45 Cr under 14th FC and Rs 3.28 Cr under MGNREGA. The works are mostly meant for providing regular water supply, improving electricity, augmenting irrigation facilities, flood control works and school education infrastructure.The DDC said that under ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ the recent report provides complete details of households with and without functional water tap connections. He said after obtaining the survey results, PHE Department has been asked to provide functional household tap connections to unconnected 13778 HHs of Bandipore District out of 45714, besides addressing quantity issues of 20089 households through a robust water security plan. The report provides all the vital statistical inputs prerequisite for proper planning, execution and monitoring of PHE Schemes.The DDC informed the Div Com that regular inspections are being carried by the District Administration to check the punctuality of employees in offices.The meeting was attended by Superintending Engineers and HoDs of various departments, Superintendent of Police Bandipora Rahul Malik, Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad Ganaie besides other senior officers.
