Education Minister Punjab Vijay Inder Singla, on Saturday, said that are the pillars of education system and their contribution to the society is always commendable. He was here Grewal Resorts to preside over a function regarding Punjab Progressive Teacher Award organized by private unaided schools association (PUSA). He said that Punjab Government has already been felicitating as many as 16,000 teachers for ensuring 100 percent pass percentage of students in examinations.Mr. Singla said that teachers are the pillars of education and society as well and their ideas and support are always welcome to improve the standard of education in the state. The education minister also shared his personal email id inviting innovative ideas, advice and thoughts for any improvement in the system.The cabinet minister Punjab said that people have given him the opportunity to serve Punjab and now it was his duty to improve the education system of the state with the help of teachers of other stakeholders of education sector. 

He added that Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government is intended to improve the infrastructure of government schools and level of education will also be improved by adopting innovative ideas and interactive learning.Meanwhile, the Education Minister also emphasized strengthening the school sports system and increasing sports activities in schools. He said that sports are the one of tools of fitness for the children and they cannot be ignored.The Education Minister further said that Punjab is the first state to focus on education policy and Right to Information under the leadership of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and it has placed special emphasis on pre-school education policy. While congratulating the award winning teachers, he said that other teachers would also be inspired to perform well for the welfare of students.On this occasion, SSP Harjit Singh, DEO Sarabjit Singh Toor, DSP Rajesh Chhibbar, PUSA president Varun Bharti, Mohit Singla, Kapil Mittal, Anil Mittal, Ranjit Singh Cheema, Ravinderjit Bindi among several other dignitaries were also present.
