In the view of 550th Prakash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, ‘Guru Nanak Utsav’ organised under the leadership of Mr. Ajaib Singh Bhatti, Deputy Speaker, Punjab Legislative Assembly at Malout today. This religious event commenced with the Path of Sri Sukhmani Sahib, which is attended by various personalities, district administration officials, school students and local residents. On the occasion, MLA Malout and Deputy Speaker Mr. Ajaib Singh Bhatti along with his wife Manjit Kaur Bhatti paid obeisance.Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ajaib Singh Bhatti said that 550th Prakash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev ji is being celebrated in all corners of world. He exhorts to follow the preachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji and told to adopt the ‘Naam Japo, Kirat Kro and Vand Shako’ the great message given by Guru Ji. Meanwhile, Ragi Jatha of Bhai Satnam Singh Kuharka and Bhai Sukhjit Singh performed the Kirtan. Baba Inderjit Singh and Poonam Kumari from Brahma Kumari Mission  urged people to follow the philosophy of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. On this occasion, Bhai Gurjant Singh, Head Granthi, Takht Damdama Sahib, Talwandi Sabo conveyed the message of Jathedar Sri Akal Takhat Sahib, Giani Harpreet Singh.Meanwhile, students performed speeches about Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Life and Pholosphy. Jagjivan Singh, Uday Pratap, Abhijit Singh, Simran Sharma, Manreet Kaur and Jaspreet Kaur gave their speeches and Prof. Bhupinder Singh, Prof. Gurjit Singh from Religion Department, Guru Kashi University and Prof. Kuldeep Singh, Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo, were the judge of competition.

Meanwhile, Ajaib Singh Bhatti distributed 13 tricycles to needy people, 13 sewing machines, 13 blankets, 13 school bags to students on the event. The Deputy Commissioner Mr. M. K. Aravind Kumar, SSP Rajbachan Singh Sandhu, SDM S. Gopal Singh, Member of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Mr. Amanpreet Singh Bhatti also present as a devotee, On the occasion.While Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Dharam Singh from GNDU and Dr. Satnam Singh Jassal from Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo and Dr. Kuldeep Singh Dhir from Punjabi University Patiala said that Guru Nanak Dev Ji has advocated unity, peace, brotherhood, women empowerment and blessings for all and told followings of Guru Ji’s teachings will be the real tribute to 550th prakash Purab of Guru Ji. Meanwhile, Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal exhorts for clean and green environment.On the occasion, three exhibitions, one about coins and postal tickets of various time phases, second photo exhibition about the Gurudwaras related to Guru Nanak Dev Ji and third about Punjabi cultural things and old utensils got good response of people. Thousands of people including school students visited these exhibitions.Member Parliament Mohammad Sadiq, Former MLA Mrs. Karan Kaur Brar, Former MLA Mr. Harpreet Singh, Harcharan Singh Brar District President Congress, Narinder Kauni, Gurmeet Singh Khudian, S. Jagpal Singh, S. Sukhdeep Singh Bittu, Master Jaspal Singh, S. Sarabjit Singh Kaka Brar, Nathu Ram Gandhi, Manish Verma, Jagannath Sharma were also present along with others.

Mamta Joshi and others pays musical tribute to Guru Nanak Dev Ji

On the grand event in the eve of 550th Prakash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji,  punjabi singer Balkar Sidhu and Sufi Singer Mamta Joshi have paid musical tribute with their musical creations. Besides these, Jagmeet Bhullar, Pammi Bai and Ritu Noora were also performed.

Light and Sound show leaves audience mesmerized    

Meanwhile, a light and sound show was organised at the venue, which got the massive response of audience. On the occasion, theatre artists gave their live performance with play ‘Gagan Mein Thal’ directed by Kewal Dhaliwal. Based on the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, religious film ‘Nanak Naam Ilahi’ also left people spellbound.
