Instilling a sense of renewed enthusiasm and purpose, DP Reddy has successfully presided over the overall revamping of state food commission processes making the statutory body more robust and performance guarantor.Palpable synergy amongst line departments besides focussed monitoring and strategising of the goals have ensured enhanced accountability and efficiency in the disbursal of social welfare schemes like National Food Security Act (NFSA) in the state fulfilling the key mandate of the Commission. With an aim to further realign the government schemes with end objective of timely delivery, the Commission held regular meetings with Department of Food & Supplies, Education and Social Security, Women and Child Development Department. Directing the line departments to ensure fast and efficacious delivery of benefits under the schemes, the Commission in its 17 full meetings ensured the emphasis was on streamlining of the integral processes and mechanism. Our aim was to involve all the stakeholders in this process of ensuring social justice to our citizens, in line with the state government's explicit objective to make the benefits reach till last man standing, shared Mr. DP Reddy who took over the reins of the Commission in October last year.

The one year has been an extremely satisfying curve for me personally with Commission taking several strides fulfilling its mandate to the people and government, he added.Spearheading the digital makeover, Mr. Reddy ensured the Commission was accessible and visible on all social platforms be it Facebook or Twitter besides having a dedicated website psfc.punjab.gov.in to cater to wide ranging queries and suggestions offered by informed stakeholders. A multi-media publicity campaign has also been designed to create awareness amongst public regarding the various pro-people welfare schemes involving catchy jingles and short films.

To enhance the working efficiency of Commission and far better coordination between office bearers of Commission, the entire office has been set up under one roof at MGSIPA building, which was earlier situated at different locations.Enhancing allocation of financial resources has been another acheivement which has resulted in considerable improvement in infrastructure at office space, Mr. Reddy, immediately after taking over, ensured higher allocation of funds during the financial year 2018-19 under Non-salary Head from existing Rs. 30 Lac to Rs. 50 Lac.   Similarly, he also got the Budget for the year 2019-20 under Non-salary Head suitably enhanced from Rs.10.01 lac to Rs. 71.70 lacs.
