Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today held an extensive meeting with the Deputy Commissioners of all the districts of Kashmir Division to discuss various issues.The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Additional Inspector General Registration, Kashmir, Director Horticulture, Kashmir; Director Horticulture (Planning and Marketing), Kashmir; Additional Commissioner, Kashmir; Revenue Attorney, Kashmir; Deputy Director, Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs and other concerned officials.The Deputy Commissioners of Budgam, Gandarbal, Bandipora, Anantnag, Baramulla, Kulgam, Kupwara, Pulwama and Shopian and the district Horticulture officers attended the meeting through video conferencing.On the occasion Div Com urged the concerned to put in place all the arrangements for snow clearance, so that roads are cleared of snow without losing anytime and all the basic necessities are made available to people without any interruption.In view of any snow predictions, Div Com directed the concerned departments to ensure that the men and machinery for the snow clearance are deployed immediately. He said that there should be no inconvenience to the people.

He enquired from the Deputy Commissioners about the availability and stocking of food grains, Petroleum products, fire wood and other essential commodities. He was informed that the stocking of the essential winter commodities have been completed.

Div Com further asked the Deputy Commissioners to ensure that the Control rooms set up in various districts remains functional.While taking the district wise review of various issues, the Div Com was informed that the recent snowfall caused heavy damage to the power transmission setup, particularly in the North Kashmir. DCs informed the meeting regarding the requirement of transformers, poles and other facilities for providing the better electricity to the people during the winter season. Div Com assured them of all the possible help from the divisional administration.With regards to the losses caused by snowfall on November 6th & 7th, the Div Com was informed that the losses are being assessed and will be finalized soon. He directed that the process should be completed in time so that the compensation is provided the people.Discussing the process of registration, the Div Com asked the registrars and sub-registrars to speed up the process.Regarding the Market Intervention Schemes (MIS), the Deputy Commissioners gave details of the progress made under the scheme.The Div Com sought details about the Back to Village – Phase 2, he was informed that the concerned officials deputed for the program have been given instruction in this regard and all the necessary arrangements put in place.With regards to the transmission of unauthorized channels in the valley, the Deputy Commissioners informed him that no such channel is being transmitted.
