Governor Bandaru Dattatraya said that sports play a significant role in our lives. Sports not only make us physically fit but also help us develop a positive attitude. Governor said this while presiding over the prize distribution ceremony of Himachal Pradesh Golf Association (HPGA) at Shimla, last evening.While congratulating the HPGA for organising two days Golf competition on completion of 20 years of its foundation, the Governor said that it was matter of great happiness that 50 players from different States of North India participated in this tournament. He said that the Association plays a major role in promotion of golf in the State. He said that today we talk of  ' Fit India, Hit India' with the motive that only a healthy person can contribute towards a healthy society.Governor expressed happiness that the State Government is promoting sports activities in Himachal Pradesh and the sports persons of the State have been bringing laurels to the State and the Nation with their outstanding performances at National and International levels.Governor also honoured the winners of different categories on this occasion.Earlier, President HPGA Somesh Goel welcomed the Governor and also detailed about the various activities of the Association.Judge, Himachal Pradesh High Court Justice Ajay Mohan Goel, Additional Chief Secretary Anil Kumar Khachi and other dignitaries were also present on this occasion.
