Tourism and cultural affairs and technical education minister of Punjab Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi today assured the Sant Samaj that Punjab Government would provide all kind of assistance and support to all stake holders to ensure grand celebration of 550th Parkash Purab at Sultanpur Lodhi .Today in the meeting, which were attended by MLA Navtej Singh Cheema, Deputy commissioner DPS Kharbanda, Baba Amrik Singh Anandpur sahib, Baba Satnam Singh Sant Ghat , representatives of Baba Gurcharan Singh Thatha , Baba Jagjit Singh Bhoori wale , the Minister said that the Punjab Government would leave no stone unturned to make the 550th Gurpurab memorable for more than 50 lakh pilgrims at this holy city . He said that the Punjab Government would provide free electricity and water supply to all 37 langars which were to be organized at the allotted places.He also said that the Punjab Government has also established three tent cities to provide comfortable stay to more than 35,000 pilgrims.Taking a serious note on the issue of stoppage of vehicles carrying raw material for Langars , Cabinet Minister has asked the district administration to immediately issue special vehicle passes for langar purposes.
Assuring the complete support for the Gurpurab celebrations, Sant Samaj made it clear that no langar would be organized on road by keeping in view the security of pilgrims and to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow.Meanwhile MLA Navtej Singh Cheema has also suggest to appoint the Nodal officers for better coordination between religious bodies organizing langars and the district administration which was dully approved by the cabinet Minister.Deputy commissioner has also informed that the PSPCL has provided the 600 KW electricity connection to the biggest langar in front of main pandal . It would be organized in 8 acres. Later on the Minister also visited the Main pandal, tent city to review the ongoing work .Prominent amongst present on the occasion included ADC Rahul chabha , SDM Dr Charumita, President Municipal council Ashok Mogla , Deputy Director Local bodies Paramjit Singh, XEN Varinder Kumar.
