DC Ramban launches 'Swachhta Hi Seva' campaign

Deputy Commissioner, Nazim Zai Khan, today launched 'Swachhta Hi Seva' campaign at Government High Secondary School to sensitize the public regarding implementation of restrictions on use of Single Use Plastic (SUP).The event was organized by the district administration in collaboration with Judiciary and the Police department.SSP, Anita Sharma, Secretary, District Legal Service Authority (DLSA), Amit Sharma, ADDC, Nawab Din, CEO, AH Fani, ACD, Zaffer Banday, DPO, Sunil Badiyal, ALC, AD Employment,  officers and officials of various departments attended the function.DC also flagged off an awareness rally under the campaign from the premises of   GHSS   which passed from main market Ramban.Meanwhile, sanitation drive was also conducted at Deputy Commissioner Office Complex and other government offices.The event was attended by over 600 students from different schools besides officers and officials of various departments who were administered pledge on "Swachhata Hi Seva" campaign by the DC.

Speaking on the occasion, DC stressed on the significance of cleanliness and hygiene in our lives. This is the time to say “No to Use Single Use Plastic” (SUP), he added.The DC asserted on implementing ban on use of polythene bags and proper disposal of both bio-degradable and non-biodegradable waste. He termed public cooperation as imperative for success of the cleanliness mission and urged upon the public especially students to be part of the drive and take it to every household in their respective vicinities.DC expressed gratitude to the youth and students for their participation and appealed them to propagate the message of cleanliness.While highlighting "Swachhta Hi Seva" campaign, Secretary DLSA said that it is a nationwide cleanliness movement where everyone has a specific role in keeping their surroundings clean. He also stressed on judicious use of water and avoid single use plastic.During the programme, a standing ovation was also extended to the sweepers by the students and officers for their contribution towards maintaining cleanliness and sanitation.
