The Rural Development, Animal Husbandry & Higher Education Minister Mr. tript rajinder Bajwa today launched ‘ Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojan’ the flagship scheme of the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh led Government in the District Gurdaspur during a function held here today. The Punjab Governmemnt has launched this scheme today in the whole state on the 75th Birth Anniversary of former Prime Minister of India Late Shri Rajiv Gandhi. Cabinet Minister Bajwa distributed the E-Cards to the beneficiaries on the occasion. Among others present on the occasion included the Vipul ujwal deputy commissioner, Ranbir singh muddal additional deputy commissioner (d), chairman Gurmit singh pahra and dr kisan chand civil surgeon Gurdaspur.Speaking on the occasion the Minister said that the Punjab Government would be spending Rs 300 Crore annually and 43 lac families would be provided free financial & health security cover under the scheme.Mr. Bajwa said that this flagship health insurance scheme would provide the financial protection as well as health security to 70 percent population of Punjab which will cover the health insurance of Rs. 5 Lakh per family per year and ensure the secondary and tertiary health services. He said that the Punjab government has appointed the 22 District coordinators to facilitate the beneficiaries at government and empanelled private hospitals.
He further said that to facilitate the beneficiaries, 200 Ayushman Mitras have also been appointed in the public hospitals of Punjab to ensure that the benefits of insurance scheme would easily accrue to all eligible beneficiaries covered in the scheme and adding more he said that 40 official cum executives have also been appointed to manage the scheme under the State Health agency of Deptt of Health & Family Welfare. Likewise, the insurance agency has established project offices and its State and District implementation units to facilitate the beneficiaries to claim insurance cover.The Minister said that as per social-economic censes 2011 small businessman, smart ration card holders, farmers (J-Farm holders) registered construction workers with the construction welfare board could avail the facilities under this scheme.on the official website of Health department at www.shapunjab.in. He said that 104 helpline is also providing the complete information pertaining to the first of its kind Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna by 24x7 days.Deputy Commissioner Mr Vipul Ujwal informed that the district administration would launch a massive awareness campaign to aware people through various publicity mediums so that people could easily register under the scheme to get financial & health benefits. He said that the response from public is overwhelming and thousands of people have checked the eligibility on the official website of Health department at www.shapunjab.in He said that 104 helpline is also providing the complete information pertaining to the first of its kind Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna by 24x7 days.
