Adding a new chapter in public broadcasting, seventeen new digital service news gathering (DSNG) vans for DD News were flagged off by Union Minister for Information &  Broadcasting Shri Prakash Javadekar.These vans are equipped to telecast live using video stream from multiple cameras. All of them are equipped to support telecast of content  in High Definition through which viewers across the country will be able to access high quality content.Speaking on the occasion, Shri Prakash Javadekar highlighted the  significance of the autonomy of the public broadcaster Prasar Bharati, stating that press freedom is sacrosanct.  He also talked about the enhanced viewer experience through  the deployment of these DSNG vans with HD compatibility. He also appreciated the expansion of Prasar Bharati on social media platforms viz. YouTube, Twitter and Facebook.I&B Secretary Shri Amit Khare talked about the significance of the initiative in ensuring live coverage of events throughout the length and breadth of the country.
