Taran Taran , 01 Apr 2019

Ranjit Singh Brahmpura, president Shiromani Akali dal (Taksali) Khadoor Sahib MP today visited the historical Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Taran Taran to express his anguish and pain after the alleged attempt of some Karsewa and office bearers of the Gurdwara management committee to demolish the historical Darshani deodi of the Gurdwara on the night of March 30.Brahmpura termed the incident as very unfortunate, shocking, painful and a sin committed by the responsible members of Gurdwara management in the garb of night and approval of SGPC.“These kind of sacrileges are taking place since the Badal family has taken full control of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee(SGPC). Badals have politicized the SGPC for the personal and political gains,” alleged Brahmpura while talking to the media persons here.He lamented that SGPC has started playing at the hands of Badal family.”SGPC was formed by the Sikhs by making a lot of sacrifices, but now its people have become Masands and doing the anti religious works,”he said.Coming down heavily on Badal family, Brahmpura alleged that Badals use SGPC to make some deals and he also suspects some kind of deal behind this incident as well because the demolition work of the Deodi was started at night to avoid public wrath.“The Deodi was constructed by Naunihal Singh, son of Maharaja Ranjit Singh and has great value for the Sikh heritage, but some anti panthak (Patnth De Dokhi) elements and foolish people and executive members of the SGPC have started demolishing it instead of its renovation and re-construction with the help of latest techniques,” Brahmpura said talking to the media here.

“Now Badal family has lost its ground and they want to come to power by doing these kinds of anti panthak and perverted works. But now we reiterate that we will not allow this demotion work to move ahead in any case,”Brahmpura said.SAD (Taksali) senior vice president and former MP said that his party would explore all legal options before it to get a criminal case registered against the persons involved in the work of demolition of the Deodi.”We shall explore options to get a case registered  in this regarding, but as the courts of law take longer time to decide such cases, I demand that persons behind the demolition of historical deodi be summoned to Akal Takhat Sahib and excommunicated from the Panth." he said.Brahmpura also released the photos of the alleged work of demolition and a copy of the SGPC resolution approving the demolition of the historical deodi, which exposes that SGPC cannot deny that it had not approved the demolition work.Brahmpura later on also paid obeisance at Gurdwara Sahib along with his party workers. At this moment former MLA Ravinder Singh Brahmpura, Satinderpal Singh Malmohri, Satnam Singh Chohla,  Kashmir Singh Sangha, OSD Damanjeet Singh and others were present. It is pertinent to mention that the some members of historical Gurdwara Darbar Sahib at Taran Taran started the demolition of Deodi late evening of March 30 and due to the opposition of the Sikh community, demolition work had to be stopped immediately afterwards.
