Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National General Secretary Ram Madhav on Wednesday said that regional parties particularly National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party don’t understand the sentiments of Kashmiri people. Madhav while addressing a press conference here in Srinagar claimed that he understands the sentiments of people in Kashmir and they only want peace, development and electoral rights while regional parties disturb the peace as it suits them.He said the reason behind the ban on Jamat-e-Islami and Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front was to establish peace in Valley while some parties want this ban to be revoked. “After imposing ban of Jamat-e-Islami and JKLF there is now peace in State. “But as the regional parties are looking for the revocation of the ban, they actually want an atmosphere to get polluted again. The ban on separatism and anti-militancy operations will remain constant to restore the peaceful atmosphere of the valley,” he said and demanded an FIR should be registered against National Conference leader Muhammad Akbar Lone for raising pro-Pakistan slogans. “This man is provoking the people of India by raising slogans in favour of Pakistan and calling the party workers “Mujahideen” who “kill and rape”.Questioning the two main regional parties NC and PDP, Madhav said if they boycotted the earlier Municipal and Urban Local Bodies (ULB) elections citing the 35 (A) reason, why are they not boycotting the Lok Sabha election. “The only reason behind it is they don’t want peace and development in the state,” he said adding that both the parties are looking for their families in order to perpetuate the dynastic rule. They don’t care about the people but PM Modi did.Appealing the people to vote the way they did it in ULB and Panchayat polls, Madhav said; “vote only those who can restore the peace, not those who label their workers as Mujahideen and develop the separatism in the valley.” (CNS)
