Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) General Secretary Ram Madhav on Thursday said Jammu and Kashmir administration will take a call on the release of political prisoners and also on the restoration of internet services in Kashmir.“See, internet, I mean broadband is gradually being restored in hotels etc. J&K administration will take a call on restoring internet at an appropriate time,” Madhav said while addressing press conference at Taj Vivanta here. According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), he said that the release of political prisoners will also depend on the J&K government’s review. The internet services continue to remain barred since August 5 on all platforms even though government claims that at some tourist destinations and at deputy commissioners offices across the UT are functional. Asked about the promise of 24-hour electricity by the former Governor of J&K Satya Pal Malik in winter months in Jammu and Srinagar cities, the BJP top leader said that he could feel that winters in Kashmir are set to be very harsh. “I have discussed the issue with the administration and I have been told that power cuts would be reduced. I urged the J&K administration to take steps to ensure minimum power cuts,” he said. “I advocate more power for the people of Kashmir, I mean electric power.”Madhav arrived in Srinagar to watch the first match I-League between Real Kashmir team versus Chennai city team at TRC ground in Srinagar.

The match sealed by Real Kashmir. Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the match, said that he was delighted to see the match and extremely happy to see Real Kashmir team playing nicely. “I was lucky enough that I saw Real Kashmir team scoring two first goals in my presence,” Madhav said.He said that prevailing situation in terms of internet gag etc are all temporary in nature. “Such measures will go as and when peace would be more permanent feature in Kashmir,” Madhav said. The BJP national General Secretary Ram Madhav also clarified that there was no threat to Muslims or other minorities from the Citizenship Amendment Act (CCA) and National Population Register (NPR) and nobody would be ousted from the country. As per KNO, Madhav said that there was a misinformation campaign being spread by some vested interests and opposition leaders across the country against BJP. “I assure people of the country and Jammu and Kashmir that this law was not against anyone. There was no threat to Muslims or any other minority section of the country be those Buddhists, Christians or other sect,” he said.Madhav famous singer of Pakistan Adnan Sami was given Indian citizenship after completing some formalities. “When Indian citizens were ousted from Uganda, they too were given citizenship after completing formalities,” he said.  About the National Population Register, he said CAA and NPR had nothing to do with the National Citizenship Register (NCR).  “NPR is just an extension of Census exercise to collect demographic and population data,” he said.
