Advisor to Governor, K. Skandan, Saturday underscored the need for greater awareness about the Common Service Centres (CSCs) functioning in the State so that maximum rural masses are made aware about the concept of investment, financial literacy and investor awareness programmes.The Advisor was interacting with the officers of Information Technology Department during his inspection of various Common Service Centres including CSC R S Pura in Jammu district today.Skandan stressed on taking necessary measures for creating digital literacy among Panchs and Sarpanchs making them aware about the new technological interventions besides the application of new digital apps. He also stressed for making the same available in local languages so that comprehensibility of these initiatives is increased.The Advisor also asked the concerned to link artisans of the State with the CSCs and establish online portal so that all information like quality of products and market price etc will be available for the customers, which he said will help the artisans to do business in a better way. He also directed them to seek a detailed list of artisans from the Department of Handicrafts.Skandan emphasized on fast pacing the registration process and ensure that beneficiaries in their respective areas come to CSCs for availing benefits of various state and central sector schemes.He said that in the modern digital age the role and scope of CSCs has got broadened as several government departments and schemes have already been registered on the web portals and people can easily access these through CSCs as well.Meanwhile, the Advisor asked the concerned Tehsildar to identify the land at Qutabnizam Panchyat Jinde block Miran Shab for undertaking the construction of playground, which has been a long pending demand of the people of the area.
