Today on 19.01.2019, Sh. Vivek Puri, learned District & Sessions Judge, SAS Nagar had conducted the surprise visit of all the Children Homes i.e. Farishta India Children’s Village, Mubarkpur, Derabassi; Jyoti Sarup Kanya Asra Trust Kharar; Universal Disabled Care Taker Society Padiala; Guru Asra Trust,SAS Nagar; Apne Foundation, H.No.18, Sector 77, SAS Nagar; Mata Gujri Sukh Niwas, Gill Farm Khanpur, Kharar and Children Home, Dusarna – Government Run which are registered under the Juvenile Justice Act. At this occasion, while visiting the Child Care Institution namely Jyoti Sarup Kanya Asra Trust Kharar, learned District & Sessions Judge was astonished to meet 7 days old boy in the institution and as per information given by the care taker of the institution that boy has been got admitted in the institution by orders of Child Welfare Committee, Mohali yesterday. At this juncture Sessions Judge appreciates the work of the persons incharge of the institution and inform that the legal services institutions are as there services as and when they required.After visiting the Homes, learned District & Sessions Judge interacted with the care takers of the Homes in order to ensure that the provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act are thoroughly complied with and that the basic facilities are provided to inhabitants of the Home. That as per the instructions of Hon’ble Punjab & Haryana High Court Committee these inspections are to be carried by learned District & Sessions Judge to make sure that the care and protection of children is actually looked after by the concerned institute. Minor discrepancies were found at Homes and care takers of the concerned Home have been informed to remove the anomalies.
