Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while presiding over the closing ceremony of four-day long state level Kinnaur Mahostava-2018 at Reckong Peo in Kinnaur district said that the state was known for its rich culture and traditions. Himachal Pradesh was also famous all over the world as 'Dev Bhoomi' for the deep faith of its people in regional deities. He said that such celebration helps in conserving the rich culture of the state.Jai Ram Thakur said that despite diversity in culture, the state was known for its harmony and peace. The present state government was committed for speedy and balanced development of all areas for which cooperation and support of each and every person was solicited.During his maiden visit to the district, he laid foundation stones and dedicated developmental projects worth crores of rupees to the people of the district on Friday.The Chief Minister announced ambulance service for Bhawanagar and PG Classes in Political Science degree college Reckong Peo. 

He said that the government would sympathetically consider demand of opening of fire station at Bhawanagar and Sangla in the district.He also released the souvenir brought out on the occasion by the organising committee and inaugurated exhibition put up by various departments, boards and corporations on this occasion.Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of Mela Committee Gopal Chand welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion and presented a memento to the Chief Minister and others present on the occasion.A colourful cultural programme was organised on the occasion.Agriculture, Information and Technology and Tribal Development Minister Dr. Ram Lal Markanda, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Virender Kanwar, MP Ram Swaroop Sharma, Vice Chairman, Forest Corporation Surat Negi, OSD to the CM Shishu Dharma, Chairperson, Zila Parishad Tashi were also present on the occasion among others.
