Historic Day That Crowns The Sacrifice Of Martyrs’ Observed At Punjab Jail Training School, Patiala

Today, on the occasion of 59th Police Commemoration Day, the martyrs of Department of Prisons & Correctional Services, Punjab were remembered at Punjab Jail Training School, Patiala. Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Rajan Kapur PPS, Superintendent Central Jail Patiala cum Principal Punjab Jail Training School Patiala welcomed the martyr’s families and reconfirmed that Prison Department is always there to support the families of the martyrs. Sh. RK Sharma Vice Principal Punjab Jail Training School Patiala remembered the supreme sacrifice of the martyrs and narrated the history of Commemoration Day as to how 10 Police Personnel of CRPF were martyred by the Chinese Army on 21 Oct 1959 at Ladakh Region. Sh. Roop Kumar Arora PPS Inspector General of Prison Punjab presided over the programme and laid the wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial erected inside PJTS campus. He honoured the families of the martyrs and re-assured the families that Department is always there for them and in case of any problem they can approach Punjab Prison HQs, Chandigarh. He spoke to the families of the martyrs and enquired about their well being. Sh. SS Boparai PPS Supdt Central Jail Ludhiana, Sh. BS Vaid PPS Supdt District Jail Rupnagar, Sh. MS Tiwana PPS Supdt District Jail Sangrur, Sh. Iqbal Singh Brar PPS Supdt Maximum Security Jail Nabha, Sh. MS Bakshi PPS Supdt Borstel Jail Ludhiana, Sh. Balbir Singh PPS Supdt Sub Jail Malerkotla, Sh. Varun Sharma PPS DPO Patiala, Sh. Kanwar Veer Partap Singh PPS Dy Supdt Prisons HQs Chandigarh, Sh. Anmol Jeet Singh PPS Dy Supdt DPO Ludhiana and Sh. Mukesh Kumar Sharma Asst Supdt Punjab Jail Training School Patiala were also present on the occasion.
