Sukhbir Singh Badal, President Shiromani Akali Dal and Deputy Chief Minister Punjab today said that all the scams of Congress led UPA government if properly probed would have ‘the Italian connection’. He said that this umbilical cord of the Italian connections must be severed to save the nation.Talking to media after addressing the mammoth gathering in favour of SAD-BJP candidate for Moga by-poll Mr. Joginder Paul Jain at village Kore Wala Kalan, Mr. Badal cited many parallels between the scandalous bofors gun deal and the copter purchase. He said that like Bofors scam in this scam too, if the bribe-giver had been caught then why not the bribe-taker be identified. He said that the scams, scandals and corruption has become the defining feature of Congress led UPA government and if these scams probed properly they would lead to the doorsteps of 10, Janpath.Daring Punjab Congress leadership to give people any single reason to vote for Congress party, Mr. Badal said that even they were in Congress as they had no other political platform. He said that he could understand the political compulsion of Punjab Congress leadership and their silence on the congress led UPA’s anti-people policies like decontrol of diesel prices, cut in fertilizers subsidy, increasing LPG prices, FDI in retail and step mother treatment with Punjab. He wondered that how Congressmen faced the people and praised the Captain for his ‘bravery’ to campaign in such a situation. He asked Amrinder to spell out a single development project that he had initiated in Moga during his chief ministerial term. Mr. Badal shared his sympathy with Punjab Congress leadership and hoped that ensuing defeat in Moga by-poll would put a full stop on their miseries as they could opt for some other business after the complete decimation of Congress party.
Giving a call to the voters of Moga to teach Congress an historic lesson, Mr. Badal said that this by-poll would be an opportunity for them to start uprooting every root of this poisonous ‘Congress Grass’ to safeguard the environment of the state and the nation. He said that people of more than 20 villages of Moga constituency have ensured him that they would not install even the polling booth of this most corrupt party in the Indian history. Mr. Badal said that under UPA rule scams were kept on appearing with alarming regularity causing great loss to government revenue and it seemed that Congress was too eager to register its name in the Guinness Book as world’s most corrupt party.Mr. Badal today carried election campaign for Mr. Jain in the villages Khukhrana, Baghele Wala, Sosan, Kore Wala Kala, Kore Wala Khurd, Daddahoor, and in ward number 6, ward number 1, ward number 22, ward number 15, ward number 19 and Green Valley in Moga city.
