Advisor to Governor, Khursheed Ahmed Ganai today asked the private educational institutions to carry forward their dual responsibility of imparting quality education and a social responsibility to cater to the less privileged segment of the society with more dedication.Ganai asserted that Private School Managements should have self regulations on the functioning of the schools.Access, equity and benchmarks are the need of the hour in the present era of knowledge education, he said, adding that, the Government will not allow a few unscrupulous elements to make education a purely profit generating business which is very demeaning to the basic concept of quality education.He said that the Government acknowledges the contribution of private educational institutions in improving the literacy rate in the state. He further asked the private schools to ensure adequate infrastructure being provided to the students at reasonable fee structure.The Advisor stated this during his public outreach programme in Jammu under the aegis of JK Governor's Grievance Cell in which more than 500 individuals besides delegations hailing from various districts including Kathua, Samba, Rajouri, Reasi, Doda, Udhampur, Poonch, Ramban and Kishtwar called on the Advisor and apprised him of the problems being faced by them.

The members of the J&K Private School Association put-forth their demands which includes fixation of fees for private schools, uniform and consistent regulatory mechanism, financial exclusion of private schools and many others.A deputation of  Mendhar from Poonch demanded for early completion of construction work of Mini Secretariat at Mehdhar, up-gradation of roads, installation of hand pumps, construction of Dak Bunglow building, release of pending funds in favour of Self Help Groups, creation of vacancy for Administrator Auqaf.A deputation of Tanda from Reasi district demanded for filling up of vacant posts in Government Middle School Tanda and augmentation of Water Supply Scheme.Collation of Association of Disable People’s organization urged the Advisor for creation of separate department or exclusive wing for Persons with Disabilities, establishment of State Advisory Board on disability, to speed up the process for the establishment of Composite Regional Centre at Amb Ghrota and many alike.A deputation of village Barigarh from Udhampur demanded for upgradation of power infrastructure, installation of hand pumps, and construction of link roads from Barigarh to Sail Khori Bair and up-gradation of road from Mansar to Barigarh.All India Confederation of SC,ST, OBC organization raised its issues which includes restoration of reservation in promotions, clearing backlog of vacancies through SSB and JKPSC, implementation of 27 percent reservation for OBCs and schemes for wattal/safai karamcharis.Another deputation of Jagriti Samaj, Basohli from Kathua demanded Government Higher Secondary School at Seri, augmentation of drinking water facilities, Primary Health Centre construction of road in Dhar Dugnoo. 

The deputation also demanded for Water Supply Scheme at Banhore and Dambra Panchayat, completion of Dharalta Salari road.Inhabitants of villages Konain, Dheeran, Bargalta, Piayala, Dhanwall of Ramnagar from Udhampur urged for opening of Government Higher Secondary School at Konain.A delegation of Shiva Colony Welfare committee, Kunjwani raised issue pertaining to upgradation of road from National Highway to Shiva colony. The residents of Lakshmi Nagar, Bohri demanded for improvement /up-gradation of nallah, tightening of electric wires and strengthening of erecting poles at Lakshmi Nagar.The inhabitants of village Palail from Reasi demanded for upgradation of Government Primary School Palail to Government Middle School. People of Mangota village from Rajouri raised issues pertaining to construction building under SSA.Residents of village Kanjli from Reasi also demanded for construction of road from Rapta to Dera.Residents of villages Chrayai, Dhanu, Seen Brahmana, Sundrani, Mutta from Udhmapur raised issues of their respective villages which mainly includes up-gradation of health care facilities at Chrayai, up-gradation of Government High School to Higher Secondary level.Inhabitants of Mohalla Johl from Mahanpur Kathua urged for augmentation of Water Supply Scheme. 

Residents of village Juthana from Kathua demanded for filling of vacant posts of teachers at Primary School Jodh, construction of road from Ghatti to Safain under PMGSY.Asserting that the Governor’s administration is committed to provide prompt and efficient delivery of various public services to the people, the Advisor directed the officers to redouble their efforts to address the developmental issues of public on priority.He further said that all out efforts are being made to ensure satisfactory and uninterrupted delivery of services to the people at their doorstep.Many other deputations also flagged several issues faced by them and sought their redressal.The Advisor gave them a patient hearing and assured that he will examine their demands and asked the concerned departments to redress all of their genuine concerns.Later, Advisor to Governor, Khursheed Ahmed Ganai convened a meeting of officers to review preparations regarding the conduct of annual examination for class 10th, 11th and 12th of Winter Zone of Jammu region.The meeting was attended by Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, IGP Jammu, Dr S D Singh, Chairman JKBOSE, Veena Pandita, Director, School Education Jammu, Rakesh Srangal and other senior functionaries of concerned departments.
