Thousands of youth today greeted former Chief Minister and Congress candidate from Amritsar Capt Amarinder Singh during his road show organised by the Punjab Youth Congress under the leadership of its general secretary Ashwani Sunny.They greeted him and shared their ideas and concerns ranging from the drug menace prevailing in the society as also the lack of employment avenues in Punjab in general and Amritsar in particular.The Road Show started from the DAV College and concluded at the Hindu College. Prominent among those who participated in the show included Gautam Majithia, ex-Coordinator National Students Union of India (NSUI), Amrit Vallabh, President DAV College Students’ Union, Naveen, President Hindu College, Sunita, Kritika, Rosy, Neeru and Mohit, all student leaders.

During his interaction with the young leaders and representatives, Capt Amarinder asked them about their aims and aspirations. He later said, the youth were quite concerned about their employment avenues and the widespread menace of drug addiction.The former Chief Minister said, the youth were genuinely concerned about as what they were going to do after completing their studies as there were no avenues of employment available to them. He said, he promised them to explore the options by which the investments and industry can be attracted to Punjab so that job avenues are created locally.
