Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Animal Husbandry Minister Virender Kanwar called on Governor Acharya Devvrat at Raj Bhavan today.The Minister apprised the Governor about the steps being undertaken to popularize indigenous species of cows in the state. He said that the Animal Husbandry department was importing indigenous from Uttrakhand and Hissar and they were being made available for artificial insemination in veterinary hospitals of the state.The Governor suggested that 10 to 15 indigenous cows should be reared in the Gau-sadans being run in the state to implement zero budget natural farming which would help the farmers to strengthen their economy. He also said that the Animal Husbandry department should focus on providing training to the officers and officials of the department
