The Minister for Disaster Management, Relief Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Floriculture and Minister for PHE Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Choudhary today toured RS Pura and Samba areas and took stock of the situation in shelling affected border villages. The Ministers also met the families of two persons killed in cross border firing in village Samkha, and Satwali in Suchetgarh.Responding to the issues raised by the border residents, the Relief Minister directed the local civil and police officers to prepare a comprehensive contingency plan to deal with any eventuality due to cross border firing. He asked them not to leave the station without informing the higher ups.The Ministers interacted with the local people and enquired about the problems being faced by them in the wake of continuous shelling from across the border. He was informed that women and children of some affected villages have been shifted to safer places.The Relief Minister also directed the health authorities to set up mobile health units to provide prompt patient care to locals as also mobile veterinary units to attend to livestock.

The people highlighted their grievances and requirements and demanded tents, identification of safer places for shelter in case of any eventuality and related services.Sham Choudhary asked the administration to furnish a detailed data about requirements of the people and meet the same in a well planned mannerDivisional Commissioner, Jammu Hemant Kumar Sharma, DC Jammu Rajeev Ranjan and other senior officers of other departments were also present on the occasion.Later, the relief Minister also visited shelter camps established by Samba administration for accommodating the border residents displaced due to cross border shelling. The Minister asked the administration to be in ready mode for prompt response in case of any exigency. He also inspected facilities available for the people at the shelter camps.Mir visited the camps at Chichi Mata and 17th mile. The administration has made elaborate   arrangements for accommodating maximum number of people in the camps, the Minister was told.
