 A delegation comprising  Sham Lal Choudhary, MLA Suchetgarh; Surinder Choudhary and Vikram Randhawa, MLCs, met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today. The delegation extended warm greetings to Malik on his appointment as Governor J&K on behalf of All J&K Jat Sabha.The members of the delegation apprised Governor about various issues relating to the Jat community in the State and demanded OBC status for them; compensation for crops damaged due to rains and cross border firing along the International Border and the LoC right from Lakhanpur to Poonch; rehabilitation of victims of cross border firing, construction of bunkers for their safety etc.Governor assured due consideration  to their issues and discussed crucial importance of electing representatives  to Urban Local Bodies and Panchayats  which are the grass root level democratic institutions for ensuring public participation in the development of towns and villages.
