Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology organized The African Student Meet-2018 at its campus. Baraka H. Luvanda, High Commissioner, United Republic of Tanzania to India was Chief Guest on the occasion. Yahya A. Mhata, Education Liaison Officer, United Republic of Tanzania to India was the Guest of Honour on the occasion. Over 70 African students of tricity attended the meet. African students of Gian Jyoti Group welcomed the high Commissioner in Punjabi traditional attires and J.S.Bedi, Chairman, Gian Jyoti Group presented a traditional Punjabi turban to the High Commissioner.Chief Guest Luvanda,  while speaking on the occasion motivated the young students to make them self-capable for future opportunities by overcoming the challenges posed before them. He emphasized that everything can be achieved with one’s committed and dedicated approach. Repeated efforts will lead to success in the mission of an individual, he added. He  also suggested students to be a part of an Association of African Students which is functioning in India. Chairman Bedi while speaking on the occasion said that the meeting was organized for the International Students studying in different colleges of the tricity. According to him only youngsters can help in shaping new peaceful and sustainable world. Youngsters can be encouraged regardless of nationality; ethnicity, religion, class, gender or other differences to fight for their own rights and serve as advocate for the rights of others.
