Minister for Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation & Reconstruction and Floriculture Javaid Mustafa Mir today flagged off an educational tour of 40 Kashmiri migrant students including 17 male and 23 female.“Educational tours play a significant role in overall development of a student as these give them an opportunity to learn from their own experiences and from the experience of others”, maintained the Minister.These students would be accompanied by teachers and officials from relief and rehabilitation department.This tour has been conducted under the Corporate Social Responsibility scheme in collaboration with the Relief and Rehabilitation department.During the tour, the students will stay at IIT Mumbai besides will also get a chance to visit Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) and other prominent institutes.Educational tour offers an opportunity for a rich immersion experience, and a tremendous way to facilitate learning by interaction among peer group, Mir added.While interacting with the students, the Minister said that travelling teaches us to bear hardships, and this is a good training for success in the struggle of life. He also said that these trips will also provide an excellent opportunity to learn and know the culture of other States besides showing glimpses of one`s own culture. He said that the department will facilitate more students to embark upon such excursions in future also.
