A one-day vocational courses programme under RUSA was today held  at  Government College for Women, Parade.Principal Secretary Higher Education Department, J&K Government, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon was the Chief Guest on the occasion.In his address, Dr Asgar discussed thoroughly the vocational courses offered in colleges and other higher education institutes to increase the employability of the pass outs.He stressed upon the need for providing adequate facilities, including accommodation for the students enrolled for such courses. He asked for giving priority to J&K students and starting the programmes in all higher education institutions of the state.Dr Asgar also stressed upon the need for imparting basic computer knowledge to all the students, irrespective of the course they opt for. He also assured the College of all the possible financial assistance  in this regard .“We will soon allow the Ph. D degree teachers in Higher Education to become guide and co-guide and promote research in Colleges” he informed.
