Gian Jyoti Phase-2  celebrated National Girl Child Day with the unprivileged girls of Mohali. The theme of this celebration was Empower the Girl Child and Spread Happiness. Students made beautiful posters on the occasion to spread this message to the masses. Breaking the barriers little girls also printed their hands using different colors on the wall as part of the celebration.J.S.Bedi, Chairman, Gian Jyoti Group while motivating the students said that the objective of this initiative is to work towards ensuring that girls are allowed to born, loved and nurtured and grow up to become empowered citizens of this country with equal rights and opportunities. According to him if  girls are educated then only nation can be education . If all the girls born in the country are developed as empowered citizens with equal rights, then the purpose of celebrating this day will be achieved. Dr. Aneet Bedi, Director, Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology said that the main reason to celebrate national girl child day was to propagate the gender equality and remove all the inequalities faced by the girl children of the Indian society. According to her saving the girl child is not the sole responsibility of the government but of the whole society. There is an urgent need for both the government and the society to come forward and work together for this campaign. Any type of imbalance in society proves fatal. She further added that Female foeticide is not only a crime against law, but also a stigma on humanity.
