Red Ribbon Club of GJIMT Received Best Club Award from Punjab State AIDS Control Society

Red Ribbon Club of Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology received best club award from Punjab State AIDS Control Society for its outstanding services to the society.   Anjali Bhawara, Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Punjab presented this award to the club coordinator and volunteers of the Red Ribbon Club, GJIMT. J S Bedi, Chairman, Gian Jyoti Group speaking on the occasion said that it is a proud moment for us to receive such honour. Our Red Ribbon Club volunteers work hard to make aware the society about the harmful effects of HIV/AIDS. Volunteers organize many rallies, seminars and other activities throughout the year to make people aware.

Chairman Bedi further said that attitude towards this issue needs to be changed and this is youth only who can bring the change in the society at large. The club volunteers also works towards promoting of life skills to bring about behavioral change among the youth.  He also highlighted the other objectives of Red Ribbon Club that is to motivate the youth and build their capacity as peer educators and become change agents by developing their skills on leadership and team building and also to promote voluntary non remunerated blood donation among youth. Acording to him Youth is backbone of the society & national leaders should take youth of the country into confidence at large and need to organize such programs regularly.
