As a step forward towards fulfilling the commitment made by the BJP-PDP Government for providing better healthcare to people at their doorsteps, Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today dedicated to the people newly constructed building of Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Bhalla in Bhaderwah. The building has been accomplished at an estimated cost of Rs. 2.21 crore by the JKPCC which has necessary facilities of toilets, washroom and other utilities for the doctors, paramedics, patients and attendants.Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that health sector is priority of the present government and right from its inception earnest efforts are being made to further strengthen the existing infrastructure with special focus on rural and far-flung areas. He acknowledged the shortage of doctors and para-medics which adversely affect the medical services, particularly in rural areas saying that Government has devised a well-knit strategy to improve the functioning of all health centres with internal arrangements till the vacancies are filled up by the concerned recruitment agencies. He said all vacant posts of doctors and para-medics have been referred to the PSC/JKSSB and the concerned agencies have been urged to expedite the process of selection so that the services do not suffer any more. While interacting with the doctors and para-medics, the Minister called upon them to work with missionary zeal and provide best possible services to the patients, which is otherwise mandated in medical ethics. He said medical is a noble profession and all those associated with it must put in their best efforts to serve the mankind.Senior officers of the district administration and prominent citizens were also present on the occasion.
