Nine registers of 163 panchayats go online

Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister  Anil Sharma today announced to make nine different registers of 163 gram panchayats of the State as paperless. These include the birth, death, stock, marriage, ledger, accounts and grant in aid, certificate registers.He said the State Government is committed for strengthening of PRIs and their working and keeping in this view the e-panchayat project of government of India is being implemented smoothly in the State.The Minister said that the e-panchayat project has 12 different software applications which will enable transparency and responsiveness in the day-to-day functioning of the panchayat. Initially, the State Government has adopted seven software applications. He said the Government has taken a major decision to make all 3226 panchayats of the State online. In the first phase, nine types of registers of 163 panchayats covering all 12 districts have been successfully made paperless.He said in second phase the above mentioned registered will be made online in all panchayats by 31 August, 2017 which will also help in saving entire data in a safe manner.
