The month of Baisakh was welcomed with usual fervour in The Holy Wonders School Mohali. Tiny tots dressed in colourful traditional Punjabi attires and celebrated Baisakhi. Wearing Punjabi dresses, students represent the culture of the state. Students created scenes like harvesting, incident of Jallianwala Bagh and establishment of Khalsa on the occasion. The celebrations started with the recitation of a shabad .They enacted a drama on Jallianwala Bagh massacre celebrated Vaisaki in traditional and the significance manners while giving practical Experience to the students of the school and performed folk dance Bhangra & Giddha in the fields where farmers were harvesting their  ripe golden crop, in the same manner as earlier farmer did so at the harvesting moment .The Principal, The Holy Wonders School Premjeet Grover while speaking on the occasion said that Baisakhi has deep-rooted significance for Punjabis. April 13 marks the beginning of new samvat year, our Indian calendar begins from this day. Traditionally, the farmers start wheat harvesting on the day of Baisakhi. At night they all burst forth into a vigorous bhangra to celebrate. She urged kids to respect their culture and tradition as every country is known by its tradition.The function ended with a lively presentation of bhangra by students of senior classes. Later prizes and gifts were distributed to the winners and participants.
