A deputation of residents of Beerwah area today called on the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti here and brought several development issues of the area into her notice and sought their redress.The deputation, led by noted social and political activist of the area, Nazir Ahmad Khan, demanded setting up of a degree college and fire station at Khag and magistracy at Beerwah besides declaring Beerwah and adjoining areas as Hill district for the speedy development of the region.The deputation also sought augmentation of drinking water facilities in areas of Batapora, Kanihama, Kawoosa Khalsa and Narbal and construction of a foot bridge over nallah Sukhnag at Goripora Beerwah. The deputation demanded development of playfields at Petha Makahama, Narwarah Machhama in Beerwah and improvement of link roads at Hamchipora Khag, Aripanthan, Kawoosa and Narbal.The deputation thanked the Chief Minister for already releasing Rs. 32 crore for Magam-Beerwah-Budgam road widening.Another deputation of entrepreneurs of Industrial Estate, Lassipora also met the Chief Minister and apprised her of their difficulties.The Chief Minister assured the deputations that appropriate action would be taken on the demands projected by them.
