A meeting of Committee on Public Undertakings (PUC) of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly was held here today under the Chairmanship of Satpaul Sharma and examined the CAGs Audit Paras pertaining to the Industrial and Commerce Department.The Committee directed the Industries and Commerce Department to furnish timely and convincing replies on the quarries raised by the CAG in its observations on the functioning of the department so that the paras are dropped accordingly.Legislators, Mohammad Akbar Lone, Shah Mohammad Tantray, Raja Manzoor Ahmed, Mumtaz Ahmed Khan and Vibodh Gupta were present on the occasion and shared their view points to further improve the functioning of the department, besides avoiding the audit observations.After detailed deliberations, the Committee dropped some of the Audit Paras unanimously after convincing reply from the concerned; however, it sought some details from the Law Department related to the instant issue.

Commissioner Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Shailendra Kumar briefed the Committee about the Action Taken by the department on CAGs Audit Paras and present status of Industrial Growth Centre Samba and Lassipora, establishment of Software Technology Park (STP) and Food Parks.On the occasion, Deputy Accountant General, CAG, DD Verma also highlighted the observations pointed out by the Comptroller Audit General in its report

Among others, Managing Director, SIDCO, Amit Sharma, Director Finance, I&C, Mohammad Yaqoob Itoo, General Manager, SIDCO Kashmir, Aga Syed Aijaz, General Manager, SIDCO, Jammu, Vikram Gupta, General Manager SIDCO, Finance, Khursheed Ahmed Da besides senior officers and officials of Industries and Commerce and Assembly Secretariat were also present in the meeting.
