Universal Group of Institutions launched the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan with the vision of transformational change in rural development processes. While giving information about it Chairman UGI Dr. Gurpreet Singh said that different teams from the institute will visit nearby villages to identify development challenges and evolving appropriate solutions for accelerating   sustainable growth. Teams also aim to create a virtuous cycle between society and an inclusive academic system by providing knowledge and practices for emerging professions and to upgrade the capabilities of both the public and the private sectors in responding to the development needs of rural India.According to him selected  teams will prepare a roadmap for holistic rural development. The faculty members supported by the students will impart awareness on cleanliness; sanitation, solid waste management, environmental protection, and career development in science and technology through interactive sessions, educational videos, informal games and question-answers. The team will also promote alternative and eco-friendly methods of farming like organic farming, alternative energy sources like biogas in the villages. The main idea for launching the programme is to provide definitive research that can be aligned with national development. To start the village adoption two villages are adopted by UGI under UBA programme.
