Rajya Sabha MP Mr Shwet Malik today said that the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janta Party would form the government for the third consecutive time in the state. He said that during that last 10 years tenure, both the parties focussed mainly on development and good governance and that is why Punjab is now one of the most developed states in the country. Mr Malik was speaking to media persons during a press conference held at Circuit House, here today.

Mr Shwet Malik further asserted that the SAD-BJP combine would form government in Punjab for the third consecutive time. He said that the main agenda of the ruling combine is carrying overall development in the state and that is why, Punjab is now a power surplus state, besides having the best road and air connectivity and infrastructure in the country. He said that even all the recruitments have been carried out in a fair and transparent manner.MP Mr Malik said that during the 2012 elections, the BJP had won 12 out of 23 seats, but in the upcoming elections, the party would win 23 out of 23 seats.He further said that the BJP would be announcing names of all its candidates for upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections shortly. He said that BJP is a cadre based party where all workers work hard for the party's victory. 

He said that when the BJP announces its candidates, all workers would work wholeheartedly for their victory and that there would be no resentment amongst any person.He was in the city to hold a meeting related to "Vijay Sankalp Yatra" that would pass through the city tomorrow. He said that this Yatra has been started by the Bharatiya Janta Party to connect directly with the masses before the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections.He informed that the Vijay Sankalp Yatra would be welcomed in the city from Jalandhar Byepass Chowk at 12 noon and would pass through Clock Tower Chowk, Division Number 3 area, Baba Than Singh Chowk, Issa Nagri Puli, Jagraon Bridge, Bharat Nagar Chowk, Midha Chowk, Ghumar Mandi, Haibowal, Upkar Nagar and other such areas.Mr Malik said that enroute the Yatra, the party leaders would pay obeisance at the statues of all freedom fighters and our great leaders. He urged the city residents to come in large numbers and become part of this Yatra.Taking an aim at the Congress party, Mr Shwet Malik said that Congress is now synonymous with Corruption and its leaders have always been neck deep in corruption. He said that around three years ago, people of India chose Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi as their leader and that is why, the BJP has been serving people ever since. He said that till date, there is not even a single allegation of corruption on any of the BJP leaders.
