Around 23 new school buildings and 80 additional class rooms have been completed under SSA, while 19 existing buildings upgraded under RMSA in Ramban district till December this year .The information was given at a meeting convened by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ramban Mohammad Aijaz with the officers of education and other concerned sectors to review the physical and financial progress under SSA and RMSA.The meeting was further informed that more than 150 computers and lap tops have been provided to 20 primary and secondary schools along with other equipment to make them ICT-enabled institutions.It was further given out in the meeting that funds over Rs 179 lakh have been expended for providing uniforms to the students, while assessment of disabled children is in progress to screen them for providing necessary aids and appliances.The DC stressed on the department and executing agency to complete the ongoing building projects at an earliest including those for which formalities have been already completed. Regarding UPS Sundgali for which Rs 27 lakhs have been sanctioned, the executing agency was directed to start the work without any delay.Laying stress on monitoring, the DDC also directed the concerned officers to monitor the ongoing works to ensure that the timelines are strictly adhered to.The meeting was attended by ACR Vevaik Puri, CPO Uttam Singh, CEO Mohd Shrief, ADs, XeN R&B, BDO Ramban and other concerned.
