19 national awardee Devika Rangachari children’s author visited Oakridge International School

Children’s author Devika Rangachari visited Oakridge International School. She interacted with students. Devika Rangachari has won 19 national awards in competitions for writers of children’s books and stories. Her book, Growing Up children’s Book Trust, 2000, was nominated to the Honour List of the international Board on Books for Young People in 2002 as the most outstanding Indian entry. Ms. Rangachari writes books and articles for children of all ages, including picture books for preschool through grade 3 and nonfiction for children and adults. An experienced speaker, she encouraged students with personal stories and shared writing tips she’s developed during her professional career as a working writer.While speaking at the moment Principal  Ramanjit Ghuman the purpose of inviting author to school was to boost children’s writing confidence, such visits encourage reading for pleasure and moreover author’s visits inspires teacher as well as children to engage with books more than just reading and writing. The session was interactive, children were excited and came up with questions on writing tips, about books written by the author.
