Maintaining that the Jammu and Kashmir Police is capable to handle any kind of situation, Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra on Friday said that two police personnel were killed while at least five thousand personnel were injured in the last three months of uprising in Valley.He said at least 473 police personnel across India including 23 of JKP were killed from past one year.Addressing a gathering here at Zewan during the Police Commemoration Day parade, DGP said, “Jammu and Kashmir Police is eligible to deal with any kind of situation like the way it dealt in 2008, 2010 and 2016 uprisings and in the 2014 deluge.”He said that the JKP is considered as one among the best forces in country as it has always performed its duties in the best way possible, adding that in the last three months of uprising in Kashmir, JKP has exercised maximum restrain and saved several precious human lives.Rajendra informed that Rupees two crore were given to those police personnel who were injured while 73 lacks were given to the children of police personnel who were killed in the ongoing uprising.He said that since last 27 years, JKP including other security agencies have lost 5,611 force personnel which include 978 JKP, 486 SPO’s, 171 VDC’s and 4016 form other security agencies were killed.
