Deputy Commissioner, Jammu Simrandeep Singh today chaired  a meeting of civil and police functionaries to  review the arrangements for Dussehra festival.Speaking at the meeting, the DC discussed the necessary arrangements for the festival including barricading of grounds, security, healthcare, Public Address System and erection of stage at Parade ground.Taking review of the arrangements for Shobha yatras to be taken out during the festival, the DC directed the concerned department to make advance arrangements for barricading inside Dussehra grounds including Parade, Gandhi Nagar, Channi and Sainik Colony.The Jammu Municipal Corporation was directed to ensure sanitation and cleanliness in and around all venues. Special instructions were issued to Fire and Emergency Services Department to keep their services ready at the venues.The officers of PDD were instructed to install electricity poles at the venues for uninterrupted power supply.The DC also stressed on formulation of an effective traffic management plan to facilitate hassle-free movement of religious processions in and around the city. He also discussed arrangements enroute for the smooth conduct of the procession particularly traffic regulation and security with SSP Traffic.The meeting was attended by ADC, Arun Manhas, SP City North Vinod Kumar, Deputy Director Fire and Emergency Services, Executive Engineers PHE and PDD and other officers of the concerned departments.
