Veteran NC leader and party’s general secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar on Tuesday slammed the Jammu and Kashmir Government over its anti-people measures, lamenting that such turbulent times weren’t witnessed by the people even during the reins of tyrant kings and rulers.Sagar said that the chief minister Mehbooba Mufti has waged war against the people of Kashmir and the vindictive acts of her are proving catastrophic on ground. NC general secretary warned Mehbooba of dangerous ramifications of launching an arrest spree against the civilian population of Kashmir, terming such measures tantamount to vengeance for expressing dissent. “Her statements since the unrest are provocative and have contributed in instigating the people. She while trying to behave more loyal than a king before the corridors of power in New Delhi has forgotten the responsibility towards her own people,” Sagar said.He also maintained that the brewing anger that saunters on Kashmir’s every street at present is an outcome of the repressive measures of Mehbooba led coalition. He said Kashmir’s entire populace has been detained in houses and whosoever dares to challenge the autocratic rule is slapped with uncalled for charges.

“This is for the first time that such a communication breakdown has been witnessed in Kashmir. Pellets have blinded hundreds of children, the eyes of whom would narrate Mehbooba’s cruel policies to the next generation,” NC leader said.Coming down heavily upon her bizarre decisions and repressive tactics, Sagar said that PDP’s battle of ideas has been brutally butchered by none other than the PDP itself. “Where are those slogans now in which Mehbooba ji would pitch for freedom of speech and battle of ideas. The truth is that the PDP has created a Frankenstein's monster that believes that only verdict is vengeance and vendetta,” Sagar said. While demanding an immediate end of the arrest spree and anti people measures, NC general secretary said that Mehbooba would do well if she contemplates the message that people in the form of protests have given to her over her decision of stitching a common ground with the fanatics that have a sole purpose to erode Muslims and their identity.
