Oakridge International School, Mohali, held a seminar on Cyber bullying for young children. The aim of the session was to make students aware about the impact of social media and to help them in understanding the concept of bullying.Dr.Harleen Gill  , DDS from Australia was key note speaker at the moment. She not only updated the students with the information about the social media and its impacts but she also shared her experiences and how to prevent oneself from becoming a victim of it. She guided the students that cyber bullying is a crime and it is against the law, so if any one faces such kind of problem and situation should report to the law enforcement and discuss it with their parents and teachers to overcome the problem.

She later, advised them to be vigilant, active and alert while using social sites. She analysed and evaluated the strategies by telling various examples to the students. It was an interesting and informative session. Students gained knowledge about cyber bullying and the strategies to overcome from such situation.Principal , Oakridge School Ramanjit Ghuman said at the moment that virtual world is replacing the real world. Our children are born with technologies and their each activity involves technology unaware of the threats in the form of unknown friends as online buddies & easy access to unethical sites. This seminar will help students to be Cyber Smart.
