Advocate Irfan Hafiz Lone who had obtained the documents about “Instrument of Accession” through RTI was not allowed to share the documents in an interaction with the media men at Pamposh hotel in Srinagar on Friday.Advocate Irfan told news agency CNS that SHO Kothi Bagh did not allow the meet and ordered him to leave Lal Chowk. “The police vehicle followed us till we left Lal Chowk,” he added.“My intention was to share the information with public regarding the ‘Instrument of Accession’ that I obtained through Right to Information Act. Though I was not allowed to brief the media, but the information which I want to share is very important,” he said.Throwing light on the information obtained by him, Advocate Irfan said that unlike other states the Jammu and Kashmir has not merged with the Union of India. “Union of India as per the information obtained under RTI has powers only to the limited subjects. Further the article 253 of Indian Constitution provides power to parliament to give effect to any international agreement but with regard to Kashmir a provision is attached to this article provides that Indian Parliament can give effect to any international agreement only with the consent of J&K state, and this makes people of J&K as principal party and moreover the Shimla agreement and prior to this even UN recognize Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan makes Pakistan as party to problem thereby meaning that the India, Pakistan and people of Jammu and Kashmir are party to this long pending issue.” (CNS)
